OK, I can call myself an old fart. I read this post and said "hey, wait 
a minute, I did that shot a few years ago!" So I looked it up...it was 
Amtrak E-units on the National Limited going by the cantilever signal 
bridge that used to be just west of the highway bridge. As I recall, I 
shot the photo to take advantage of a paving project that had most of 
the southbound lanes closed, just like Dan suggests. Unfortunately, the 
National was the only train where lighting cooperated that morning.

The date on my slide? 1977. OK so it was 21 years ago....maybe they have 
to pave these bridges every 20 years.

Do try this shot if you get a chance, it's well worth it. I know the E's 
are gone and I assume the signal bridge is, too.
