For all of you frequent travelers on the SPORRS list who appreciate
functional clothing...

Sierra Trading Post (1-800-713-4534) is having a closeout sale on the
ExOfficio "Swiss Army shirts" at about 35% off retail price.

These are great shirts for travel and railfan use, because they have a
huge, 11" deep pocket on the left side that holds an airline ticket or
pocket scanner, plus two other pockets good for a notebook, spare roll
of film, etc. And they are a cotton/polyester mix so you can wear and
wash them on the road without ironing.

Some months ago I mentioned how much I liked the ExOfficio "Adventurer"
fishing shirt for railfan use. These Swiss Army Shirts are just as
functional but don't have a lot of the other outdoorsy geegaws that make
you look like you've been...fishing. I have three of these shirts and
wear them anytime I am traveling, and they can actually be worn for
casual attire. I often wear them to work.

They are expensive shirts, but STP has the long sleeve (item 33110D) on
sale for $41.50 and the short-sleeve (item 32104D) for $38.

I got turned onto this brand of clothing several years ago while
traveling with Steve Gartner, a hard-core fisherman and railfan. He
seemed to have a pocket for everything.
