I carry my antenna in the tripod case or in my suitcase.

After many different magnetic-mount antennas...I've owned at least
six...I settled on something called the Scan 11 antenna, sold by
Scanner World USA for about $25. It breaks down into two sections,
each about 20" long. I carry a small Allen wrench in my wallet to
tighten/loosen the small set screws that hold the antenna sections
together.

This is the only antenna I've owned that will stay put in eastern
Montana winds, driving at sustained 90-100mph speeds. A great product.
