I agree with you, Jim. 

B&W is often superior to color images, and both have their place. In Diesel
Era, nearly 90% of the photos we run are from B&W prints, not color slides
that were scanned and converted to B&W. A few of the B&Ws are created that
way, but the vast majority were shot as B&W.

However, it was not a young fan, (Dave Busse I think was the original source,
but may be wrong) that made the comments about the "Antique" B&Ws.

I still shoot more B&W than color and have since the early sixties.
