There must be nice weather and lots of trains around the country as SPORRS seems to be resting. I just wanted to comment on how much I like Todd Novak's shots that were recently posted.? I especially like the image of the CN led train in Virginia, MN.? A fifty mm lens, Kodachrome 25 and a good eye for composition made a stunning image. Although I am partial to photos that place the train in it's environment and show us something about where a train is operating, Dave C.'s tightly compressed shot of a BN led train coming thru a bridge into St. Louis is quite dramatic.? I like the strongly lit locomotive nose, with the engineer visible, framed in the stacked steel of the bridge superstructure. A composition of repeating square forms. I do find the brightness of the yellow compressor occupying the lower left of the image to be a distraction.? Maybe, Dave, you could have run out and spray painted the compressor to match the bridge, eh? <g> Mike Gardner ======================================================= -> SPORRS: 'Serious Photographers Of Railroad Related Subjects' -> Web Site: http://www.anet-stl.com/acphotog/sporrs/ -> Message ? 1998 SPORRS? - All Rights Reserved =======================================================
