There must be nice weather and lots of trains around the country as
SPORRS seems to be resting.
I just wanted to comment on how much I like Todd Novak's shots that were
recently posted.? I especially like the image of the CN led train in
Virginia, MN.? A fifty
mm lens, Kodachrome 25 and a good eye for composition made a stunning
image.

Although I am partial to photos that place the train in it's environment
and show us something about where a train is operating, Dave C.'s
tightly compressed shot of a BN led train coming thru a bridge into St.
Louis is quite dramatic.? I like the strongly lit locomotive nose, with
the engineer visible, framed in the stacked steel of the bridge
superstructure. A composition of repeating square forms. I do find the
brightness of the yellow compressor occupying the lower left of the
image to be a distraction.? Maybe, Dave, you could have run out and
spray painted the compressor to match the bridge, eh? <g>
