Regarding my statement -- " Sometimes when I present my 'trains on
stamps' slides at a railroad meeting, there are a few morons who hiss and
complain and actually leave the room because my slides aren't 'real
trains'."

We are photographers of railroad subjects. I have seen slide shows of
postcards, maps, timetables, telegraph insulators, etc. There are always
a few rude people in the audience who will complain.

The most common interruption at shows these days is when a "steam" crowd
sees a diesel slide, but it is in good fun. I read this was a very
serious problem at rail society meetings during the steam-to-diesel
transition years. In one incident, a New York Central spokesman was booed
so fiercely when he included scenes of his company's new diesels that the
railroad ended their program of sending him to railfan organizations.
(Yes, it happened in New York City!)
