Dear List,
I am chasing down any papers on splenic contraction during exercise or
hypoxia in humans. There is an interesting paper on rats but I can't find
much on PubMed on humans.
Kuwahira I, Kamiya U, Iwamoto T, Moue Y, Urano T, Ohta Y, Gonzalez
Splenic contraction-induced reversible increase in hemoglobin
concentration in intermittent hypoxia.
J Appl Physiol. 1999 Jan;86(1):181-7.
Apart from one other recent paper (JAP 90:1623-1629, 2001) relating to
breath holding there isn't much recent published. Are there any studies out
there that have yet to be published, for instance an Masters or PhD project?
Thanks in advance.
Cheers,
Chris
