GUIDELINES FOR SUBMISSION OF ABSTRACTS
Abstracts are invited for podium, poster or workshop presentations on any of
the congress themes (please refer to Congress Announcements available on web
addresses or by email from the organisers)
Abstracts should be no more than one A4 page in length (unjustified, typed
in Times New Roman 12 point font, single spaced, 2 cm margins) in English or
French. Diagrams and references should be reduced to a minimum. Journal
references should be kept to a minimum and included in the text. Give the
authors followed by the journal, year, volume (issue), and first and last
page numbers. The title of the reference should not be included. A sample
abstract layout is given below. Each submission should be original work
that has not been previously published. The abstract must begin with the
title of the paper, the author(s), and the name and location of their
institution(s) left justified at the top of the page. The abstract should
contain the following sections:
- Introduction with brief background, rationale, aims and/or hypotheses
- Method
- Results briefly stated
- Discussion and concluding statement.
The scientific committee will review abstracts prior to acceptance and will
be grouped thematically either in free communications or poster sessions, or
as related to invited speaker presentations. Abstracts should be submitted
by email in MS WORD format directly to the congress organiser. Please
contact the Congress Organiser if this is not possible for you.
All accepted abstracts will be published in the conference proceedings.
Those meeting the requirements of the Journal of Sports Sciences will be
published in a special issue of that journal (Please note that these
abstracts must be in English) . A second publication, either a book or
papers in the Journal of Sports Science will be published after the
conference. Consequently manuscripts (in English) will be required from
those presenters whose abstracts are accepted.
Deadline for receipt of abstracts 2nd January, 2003
Notification to authors 1st February, 2003
Deadline for receipt of manuscripts 1st April, 2003
