The Singapore Sports Council (SSC) is Singapore's leading agency for sports development. It works in partnership with athletes, officials and various partners, such as National Sports Associations, sponsors and community organisations, to achieve excellence in local sports.
To help achieve our vision of a Sporting Singapore, we are now inviting applications for the positon of: DEPUTY DIRECTOR (SPORTS SCIENCE) Reporting to the Director (Sports Medicine & Sports Science), you will be responsible for the overall management of the Sports Science Department and the further development of Sports Science in Singapore. You will oversee the provision of Sports Science services to designated National Sports Associations (NSAs) and athletes. This will be a critical role towards achieving our target of becoming a top 10 sporting nation in Asia by 2010. Prerequisites: * A good post-graduate qualification in one or more of the Sports Science disciplines. A doctoral degree in this field would be advantageous * Minimum of 10 years' relevant working experience preferably in a sports institute, with at least 5 years in a managerial position * Has effectively managed a team of sports scientists * Has vast hands-on experience in working with elite athletes and coaches * Should have a good working knowledge of all Sports Science disciplines, with a holistic, unbiased, and balanced approach to the delivery of Sports Science services * Has knowledge in public relations and business administration * Has good people skills, and is a good team worker * Willing to take on a generalist role and approach * Sets a good example in maintaining physical fitness, with a genuine interest in sports * Patient and a strong believer in getting actively involved in operational duties and implementation tasks to ensure effectiveness of programmes Please log on to our website at http://www.ssc.gov.sg/careeropp for more details.
