Please find below details of a new position available at the Defence Science and Technology Organisation (DSTO) of Australia.

The Human Protection and Performance Division (HPPD) of DSTO is looking to recruit a new permanent staff member at S&T 3 level (APS 4-5, $47,366 - $56,588) to support the implementation of the Physical employment Standard (PES) project. HPPD is located in Melbourne and supports the Australian Defence Force (ADF) in the areas of physiology, biomechanics, ergonomics and heat stress management. Please see below details of the new position. These details are specific to the position at hand, however, due to the fact that employment is taking place through the 'Graduate Recruitment Program' a generic application is required as detailed in the below instructions.
Job Description:
- Planning, preparation, implementation and reporting associated with all phases of the Physical Employment Standards (PES) project
Duties Include:
- Ability to work across multiple scientific domains (physiology, biomechanics, ergonomics etc.)
- Ability to liase and interact effectively with the client and proven commitment and ability to conduct field trials
- Ability to work independently and as part of the larger PES team
- Good time management, project management and administrative skills
Required Qualifications:
- Honours/masters degree – proven human performance research orientation and interest

- Risk assessment
- Injury prevention and rehabilitation
- Strength and conditioning
- Functional anatomy
- Ergonomics
