I am a partner in a 2-physician sports medicine and non-surgical orthopedics
practice. (I
am also a D-I university team physician and a team physician for the US Figure
Skating
Association.)

We have many high-level runners, cyclists, and triathletes in our practice and
in the
community, and we would like to begin offering metabolic testing (VO2 max,
lactate
threshold, etc.) in our office. I would like suggestions for a treadmill,
cycle ergometer, and
metabolic cart. Being in private practice, cost is a factor, of course, but I
don't want to
"cheap out."

I've seen postings for the Velotron ergometer, and it seems like the way to go.
 Can these
be interfaced with a metabolic cart? Also, is it better to use the Dynafit Pro
or Elite, or to
get the Basic, to which a cyclist can attach his/her own bike frame?

For a treadmill, we need one with a low motor housing profile to allow for
easier live gait
analysis. Any suggestions?

Finally, what are some suggestions for a metabolic cart? Again, we are not an
ex phys lab.
We will be doing commercial testing for patients, and ease of use, cost, and
reliable are
important.

Thanks!
