An honours student is sought for research within the School of Chiropractic and Sports Science, Murdoch University, Perth, Australia, prior to or from January 2012. The research focus will be in sport expertise and motor skill learning with supervision provided by Dr. Sean Muller. The school will have new sports science facilities that include a performance laboratory (biomechanics and skill acquisition) which will be fully equipped. Specialised equipment is already available for sport expertise/motor skill learning research. Some links have been established with local sporting organisations to recruit participants for research.
A tax free scholarship of $8,000AUD for 1 year of full time enrolment will be provided as a living allowance to assist the student during his/her honours year. Funding is also available to support relevant research costs. The student will be required to have a relevant degree in sport/exercise science or a related discipline to qualify for honours with a grade point average above 65%. The prospective student should consider progression to a PhD and be eligible to apply for the Australian Postgraduate Award (APA) due 31st October 2012. Applicants will be required to submit a brief statement of their research interests and why they should be selected for the scholarship (one A4 page), as well as submit their CV and official academic transcript.
