I have started a new issue of Sportscience http://sportsci.org with a report on the annual meeting of the American College of Sports Medicine.
Also in the new issue are updates of various spreadsheets: the sample-size spreadsheet now deals comprehensively with effect statistics arising from counts and events, and the spreadsheets for controlled trials and for comparing group means now include clinical inferences and an up-front user-friendly approach to insertion of smallest important effects. There is also a summary of postings to this list a few months ago about the problems with the Excel/Powerpoint combo for graphing and your choices for the best graphing software. Coming soon: a report on Football Science VII, the international conference in Tokyo last month. I am also hoping to get a tardy author to finish an article on prediction of NFL game outcomes.
