Hi WG, This draft discusses scalable mechanisms to realize network slicing in SR networks. It introduces two mechanisms to achieve this:
* Ability to allocate multiple slice SIDs for the same prefix that share the same underlying topology. * Relying on a global network slice identifier that can be carried in packets forwarded over a network slice in an IP/MPLS SR network. Please review and let us know if you have comments. Regards, Tarek/Pavan On 12/16/20, 3:19 PM, "[email protected]" <[email protected]> wrote: [External Email. A router that requires forwarding of a packet that belongs to a network slice may have to decide on the forwarding action to take based on selected next-hop(s), and the forwarding treatment (e.g. scheduling and drop policy) to enforce based on the slice aggregate per-hop behavior. Segment Routing is a technology that enables the steering of packets in a network by encoding pre- established segments within the network into the packet header. This document introduces mechanisms to enable forwarding of packets over a specific network slice along a Segment Routing (SR) path.
