Body: ITU-T Study Group 17 informs the IETF Security Area of discussions held
at its meeting, Geneva, 1-10 June 2026, on draft Technical Report ITU-T
XSTR.srsec: Security aspects of segment routing IPv6 for the convergence of
computing and network for telecommunication operators.

The objective of this Technical Report is not to define new protocols or
propose additional technical work, which falls within the purview of the IETF.
Rather, it summarizes the existing technical landscape and security
perspectives to facilitate a better understanding for consumers, including
telecommunication operators.

During its review, SG17 noted the significant progress already made by the IETF
on SRv6 security, with numerous discussions and mature drafts available. It was
therefore agreed to proceed with this Technical Report by carefully removing
potentially misleading descriptions and ensuring that the relevant ongoing work
in the IETF is accurately and properly reflected.
To ensure close coordination, avoid duplication of effort, and accurately
reflect the latest developments, ITU-T SG17 kindly requests the IETF to provide
information on the current status of related technical discussions and drafts
concerning SRv6 security and looks forward to continued collaboration.
