The IESG has approved the following document: - 'Introducing Resource Awareness to SR Segments' (draft-ietf-spring-resource-aware-segments-21.txt) as Proposed Standard
This document is the product of the Source Packet Routing in Networking Working Group. The IESG contact persons are Gunter Van de Velde, Jim Guichard and Ketan Talaulikar. A URL of this Internet-Draft is: https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/draft-ietf-spring-resource-aware-segments/ Technical Summary This document describes a mechanism to allocate network resources to one or a set of Segment Routing Identifiers (SIDs). Such SIDs are referred to as resource-aware SIDs. The resource-aware SIDs retain their original forwarding semantics, with the additional semantics to identify the set of network resources available for the packet processing and forwarding action. The proposed mechanism is applicable to both segment routing with MPLS data plane (SR-MPLS) and segment routing with IPv6 data plane (SRv6). Working Group Summary Broad consensus to publish and several directorate reviews (authors have responded in a timely fashion). Document Quality One implementation as documentated in the implementation section of the document. Personnel The Document Shepherd for this document is Alvaro Retana. The Responsible Area Director is Jim Guichard. _______________________________________________ spring mailing list -- [email protected] To unsubscribe send an email to [email protected]
