Greg- It would be tough to sell an AHJ on less than OH2 for mercantile, and as Bill points out, they can change it later without quantum impact if they ant to sell widgets. But if the stuff is for sale, has a bunch of foam, it's mercantile.
Even thou it looks like a LH duck, it's actually an OH2 mule since the stuff is for sale. Philosophically, the furniture in my office is for sale if the price was right, but does that change it from LH to OH2? Are we protecting based on intent? I'll close with one of my favorite analogies- we have 13D systems turn into 13R systems if the inhabitants aren't related. So the protection level could hinge on if there is a piece of paper -like adoption papers- in an off-site safe, turning unrelated college students into brothers. Would depth of belief and commitment to a fraternal organization truly make a frat a 13D occupancy since they're truly brothers, one family with more cohesion than some of the families we see on TV? Tell me a small frat house of like-minded religious, studious, non-partying guys in a small frat house wouldn't be less risk than what exists in the Gotti, Osborne, or GENE Simmons houses which could be protected by 13D systems. George Church Rowe Sprinkler Any Simmons on the Forum should not take offense at this, they should be busy mourning the death of this year's Chargers run. -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Brooks, Bill Sent: Monday, January 15, 2007 1:10 PM To: '[email protected]' Subject: RE: Office furniture showroom There is no engineering answer to why a LH office sales area (without all of the extra paper, compact refrigerators, portable heaters, and tangle of plug strips under the desks) is really an OH2 design. The only possible answer relates to the fact that this building use is intended to accommodate OH2 commodity arrangements. Not now, but some other time. And when it does the building will not be subject to a change of use code compliance action. By the way, what is a Light Hazard fire if it were to be inserted in a fire model? Would a OH2 fire be twice the heat release rate since the sprinkler density is doubled?
