While fire fighters were pouring water on the blaze for more than 24 Hours,
they still couldn't tell if everyone got out. 135 apartment units burned,
without fire sprinkler protection, in a 35 year old building.
This might be Colorado Springs best chance yet to pass a sprinkler ord. for
existing structures.
It always seems to take a major fire to get things moving.
