Joke or not a Joke,

No body came forward to shed some light on the subject other than the lights
generated by the burning margarine, namely:

The classification criteria as per NFPA 2007 is based on concrete database
or is based on assumptions that may or may not be valid.

Let me quote NFPA-30:

6.8.1.6* For the purposes of Section 6.8, any liquid that gels, thickens,
or solidifies when heated; or whose viscosity at room temperature versus
weight percent content of Class I, Class II, or Class III liquids is in the
shaded portion of Figure 6.8.1.6 shall be permitted to be protected using
either the criteria for a Class IIIB liquid in accordance with Figure
6.8.2(a) or Figure 6.8.2(b) or the criteria for Group A plastics in
accordance with Figure 6.8.2(b), whichever is applicable.

This clause is not fully compatible with NFPA-13.

Dan,

I think that's your first joke and it was good. my question would be
will K25 unpopped corn absorb enough heat to extinguish the flames as
soon as a sufficient amount of corn was popped? And, how to define
that. Movies at home, in a small theater, a multiplex, Woodstock?
