I am working on a project where two steel tanks are to be used for a suction source for a pump. They are new, but were not designed to meet NFPA 22 standards and are to be converted. The only problem is the priming and painting of these tanks is not practical. The supplier has proposed using a cathodic protection on the interior. NFPA 22 seems to allow it subject to AHJ approval. Are there any problems with this that I should be aware of?
