I'm designing the suppression system for a new 17 story building. The building sits next an existing 4 story building. The separation between the two is just two feet. Our wall has a two rating and their wall also has a two hour rating. However, their wall has an ERIS finish on it. The top of their wall will be sealed to our wall by an expansion joint. There are no unprotected openings between the walls. The owner of the other building is now asking if fire suppression is needed. Does this void space need sprinklers? Is this a combustible concealed space? I appreciate any thoughts on this situation.
