Pete,

2002 NFPA-13;

11.2.1.3, Occupancies or "portions of occupancies, shall be
classified....."

5.3.1, Ordinary Hazard Group 1 "do not exceed 8 feet...."

Hope that helps

Subject: Incidental Storage

List members.

If a room, say 20 ft. by 20 ft., in an overall light hazard occupancy is
used for storage of combustible materials (i.e. ordinary hazard) stacked
say 8 feet high, does NFPA 13 require that space to have OH density and
spacing criteria met? I remember a discussion on this sometime in the
past but I can't find anything definitive in NFPA 13 that wouldn't
require you to apply the OH rules.

Thanks

Pete
