A local film studio had a similar room (for archives, no nitrates)
and they requested an FM200 system because of fear of water damage.
They weren't so much concerned about the film itself, but that water
could damage what's on the film. Since it was a vault and the
building was fully sprinklered, the AHJ signed off on it. I know that
doesn't answer your question, but it may be something to consider.
If there are no cellulose nitrates (worth mentioning in a note on the
drawing), then you would be out of that part of the standards. I
would take a look at it as storage under 12 feet and see where it
falls on the decision tree. Consider at the amount of plastics and
the packaging (steel reels, cardboard boxes, metal drawer trays?) and
go from there.
Caveat, I'm assuming that you are talking about video/audio film and
not just thin sheets of plastic

It is my week for questions I guess;
If Polyester film is stored in a concrete room called a vault by the
owner inside small flat file metal cabinets that we would use for plan
drawers under 8'; are we completely removed from the film vault criteria
in 13 - 21.7 which is only for Nitrate films?
If so, what storage do we consider this? Would it fall into the Ordinary
Hazard classification?
The drawings we received show it as .15 density and I am just double
checking.
Thanks for your wisdom again.
