Does anyone have any experience with rack storage of polyester fabric on paper rolls?
- double row racks, - solid shelving, - 3 levels of storage (2 solid shelves) not greater than 60" apart vertical, - 3" transverse flues at the rack uprights, - No longitudinal flues, - max storage height is 14 ft., and - T.O.S. is 16 ft. I know solid shelves are ugly, but as we all know, not much guidance is given in NFPA 13 -2002. I came up with one level on in-racks + .285 / 2000. Looking at the fire test data, it recommends providing additional protection and I was thinking of tightening up the in-rack spacing and providing face sprinklers. Any assistance or advice is appreciated. Regards, Sean W. Conlin, A.Sc.T. DEMAND SPRINKLER DESIGN INC.
