I'm not sure how much of the change you're aware of, or how dramatic some of the improvements are. Removing velocity pressure problems from Advanced Hydraulics isn't a change for the worse, as an example.
There's a group of us who've been mtg at NICET for over a year to almost start from scratch and re-examine from the foundation what belongs in, what doesn't, how to test for it, and at what level each item- or level of item- belongs in. I trust if you were to look past the transitional time- and compromised integrity of the tests cannot be tolerated, but is at the root of this interim requirement- to what will be implemented next year, your comments today will be appropriately characterized as human's natural tendency toward resistance to change. I, too have employees in the process, and a vested interest in balancing the need to have folks GET certified, yet keep it meaningful and significant that they passed it. Setting the bar is not an easy task, we have a screaming need for certified people but you cannot be certifying people that shouldn't be certified. FEEL FREE TO COME TO THE TEST QUESTION WRITING SEMINAR AND WORKSHOP AND DO YOUR SHARE TO IMPROVE THE INDUSTRY THAT PUTS FOOD ON YOUR TABLE. It's so much more rewarding to make a positive impact instead of just bitching. I'm finished testing as well but, I have 2 employees who just started testing and I don't envy them.
