Imho, each part in the industry is vitally essential to the overall outcome
of a company -

The owner - responsible for the initial face to face operation(s) of the
company, maintaining the standards of the company, and promoting the name of
said company...

The designer - responsible for doing a well-thought out design which will
'hopefully' minimize field headaches and at the same time cut costs w/
material(s)...

The field super - responsible for driving home the project during the
installation phase - keeping guys on task!

If one aspect fails... then the company as a whole will fail to some degree.

It's obvious - the most important person is Eli Manning.
Sorry Steve, I know - Sprinks, sprinks, sprinks. :-)

Subject: Who's the most important person?

Who makes the most money for a typical sprinkler company?

1. Owner/President
2. Designer
3. Field Super

I see the owner deciding which jobs to chase and what the final price
should be - I see the designer figuring out the most economical piping
system - I see the field super making sure the crew is working most
efficiently.

In each case, a slip-up sacrifices job margin.
