Todd,

I'm not aware of anything that would prevent piecing together the pump and
tank for a 13D system. I believe this is part of trying to keep it as
affordable as possible. I think most of the folks that use the package
systems do so for ease of installation. Similar to flex drops, some folks
use them while others prefer to hard pipe their drops. Both are acceptable.

Think about all of the homes in the country that have 13D systems that are
fed from a well. If you can meet the flow, duration and pressure
requirements for the system this is perfectly acceptable.

Cliff

Subject: 13D system pumps

As opposed to buying a package system, a contractor wants to piece
together a pump and tank system for an NFPA 13D (2002) system. I know
the pump does not need to meet NFPA 20 criteria, but are there any
restrictions or requirements for these pumps beyond NEC standards?
