Actually, we've been requested to provide As-Builts because a head was 12" different from where shown on plan (HVAC conflict and still well within calculated spacing requirements) and because hangers were not shown exactly on the pipe where they were shown on the plan.?? In the past we figured on As Builts for substantial changes to the plan, but in the last few years, the Inspectors are increasingly unwilling (or unable) to approve those changes in the field at the time of inspection.? Plans must be resubmitted, re-checked and then reinspected at a delay of? weeks, if not months for minor changes which do not affect design or system operations.
