Another one to throw at all…
Just got off the phone with a g.c. regarding the need for an ‘upsizing’ of the already installed, buried, and built-upon underground feed. He said that he would like to (at his own $$) provide a booster pump (instead of installing a larger underground feed) prior to the domestic / fire sprinkler service connection(s) which would inevitably increase the characteristics of the supply. This all came about as from bid to build – changes galore have happened and thus we have had to double the quantity of heads on a proposed dry system! I’m seeing several concerns in the grand scheme of things… and I need some help in pinpointing something in NFPA that will say “yay” or “nay” to what they want to do.
