Don't know if there's an official moniker, but we call it a scissor
stair and it's an architectural device that satisfies at least two of
your required exits and gets a LOT of your occupant load out of the
building in a relatively smaller (and localized) footprint area. The
code requires that standpipe connections be located at either the
intermediate or floor level landings of every required exit stair so I
believe it is correct to put a standpipe connection at the landings of
EACH stair (i.e. two per level within the shaft) because you have two
stairs.

Subject: Standpipe/Stair arrangement

This is a tough one to put into words, drawings would better explain.

We have a stair tower (one of three) in a hotel that has two
entrance/exits on the first through fourth floors and one door on the
other 27 floors. There is no dividing wall between the stairs. Imagine
two people enter through separate doors on the first floor and as they
head up the stairs they pass each other halfway up to the intermediate
landings. You could actually climb over the railings from one stair to
the other.

We have installed a single standpipe through the floor landings on
floors 5-27 and continued to the first floor. Now the AHJ is thinking we
need a hose valve adjacent to the other entrance on floors 1-4. Both
doors access the same fire area.

I hope y'all can decipher.
