Would your susceptibility to seismic events come into play? Two towers swaying to different drummers, I'm not good at iambic pentameter on Monday AMs, although it does seem to beg the switch here....

We have an infill project where two separate buildings - as defined by code - are connected by a covered walkway. Pursuant to the FI in the sprinkler systems handbook, I'm down with the "separate building/separate system" approach, but not the architect wants to put both risers in one of the buildings. Anyone have any idea if there's a prohibition on this arrangement? We would Christmas Tree the two risers in one room, and then bulk down the connector to the 2nd building. Connector is sprinklered, BTW and code-classified as part of the 1st building, in which the risers are located.
