We don't use inert gases in occupied areas due to the safety of people who
might be trapped or otherwise occupying those areas.

If a person was injured or killed the first question a smart lawyer would ask
is why didn't we use Inergen of FM200 in the area that would have been safer.

The inert gases are the best choice for protecting equipment and ductwork from
process exhaust systems, flammable storage cabinets, things like that.

Subject: RE: Inergen vs Nitrogen vs Argon

Hi Craig,
But both Nitrogen and Argon are allowed in NFPA 2001, what is the reason you
don't use them? For sure Inergen is better for occupied spaces but is there any
problem with Nitrogen and Argon?
In there any special application that using Nitrogen and Argon is better than
Inergen?
Thanks,
Reza

We do not use Nitrogen or Argon in any occupied spaces.

Inergen can be used in an occupied space like FM-200.

Subject: Inergen vs Nitrogen vs Argon

Hi All,
I would appreciate if anyone can compare Inergen vs Nitrogen vs Argon fire
suppression systems.
Is there any recommended application for Inergen or Nitrogen or Argon? What is
the advantages & disadvantages of each one?
I know that 8% of carbon dioxide which is in Inergen allows a person to breath
deeply in a  a reduced oxygen atmosphere.
Thanks all
Reza
