I am looking at a building where the static pressure at the discharge
of the pump is approximately 200 psi. The client will have 28 ft high
storage of Class III commodities in racks (the pump is approx 12 ft
below where the sprinklers will be). They want to use ESFR sprinklers
to avoid in-racks. I looked and cannot find any ESFR heads rated over
175 psi (did I miss one?) I also thought I read somewhere that there
is a maximum pressure for ESFR, but can't seem to find anything. Is
that true or just a sound in the fog? The other option the contractor
proposed is CMSA, but I don't see any high pressure versions of those either.
