I want to be a plumber, big bucks and nobody messes with or questions the
plumber.

Guys,

I think those of us that said the architect meant it was his responsibility
to get it done and not the sprinkler guy. We've already debated here whether
it's the sprinkler guy's responsibility to prove that a building will hold
up the system, with surprisingly, some saying it is. I saw one contract
wanting the sprinkler guy to prove that the system weight wouldn't negate
the civil design. I'm thinking someone here is confusing a fire getting hot
with heat gain. I'm always surprised by what a sub-contractor is ready and
willing to do.
And because they are they find themselves liable for engineering issues
following an NFPA 25 inspection, or paying for structural calcs, or the
soils engineer, and always acting as a bank that doesn't charge
interest--and if there's a pay if paid clause a welfare agency for owners
and general contractors. I'm thinking of getting into general contracting
because I can get the sprinkler guy to pay for everything, carry it for ever
at no interest, accept all liability and let the money flow through me.
