I have a situation where there is a four story building that is 33' to the lowest level of fire department vehicle access on the west side. The east side of the building is only 23' above the lowest level of fire department vehicle access. My question is if the FDC is located on the east side of the building can the standpipe requirement be eliminated since the 23' is less than the 30' required by IBC 905.3.1?
