I am unaware of any requirement to pipe it to the riser.
I would pipe it in, above the drum drip so you still have drainage.
Many properties have remote air compresspea' I would just place a sign
on the riser indicating where the air is fed from.

Subject: Air Compressor

I have been presented with a question th
at I hope you all could help me
with.  Inside of a recycling building at a waste facility we have a 6"
dry system.  The air compressor is a riser mount single piston that
takes 3 hours and 17 minutes to fill the system back up after trip.
The customer has a 50 gallon vertical on the opposite end of the
building that has 1 airhose hooked up to it used for tires.  The
comppressor is hardly ever used and is bolted to the floor and hard
wired on a dedicated circuit.  Next to the compressor is a low point
drum drip.  If a UL listed air maintenance device is installed can that
compressor be tied into the system even though it is at the back of the
system.  I cant find anything that says you cant do this but Im not
sure im looking in the right spot.

The suggestion was made to install a t above the top valve of the drum
drip.  Im stumped.
