I should also point out that the NFPA 12-2005 revisions were introduced in
response to tragic events that resulted in deaths where the system was
"locked out" electronically but the system discharged anyway.

In addition, the safety provisions that got written into the 2005 edition
of NFPA 12 were one of the very few times that a new edition of the code
had provisions that were retroactively applicable to all previous
installations - due to the potential deadly consequences if they were not
so applied.

The NFPA standard on CO2 systems was revised in 2005 for the safety
equipment - pneumatic horns, mechanical delay, etc.  If the BS standard is
a 2001 edition it pre-dates the safety revisions of NFPA 12-2005 and, thus,
would not have these provisions.
