Good questions Matt. Also what is the water source, municipal supply, tank, etc.? Any fluctuations in supply pressures? Is there a check valve in the discharge of the pump? Since this is a non-standard pump setup, how is it piped from the source?

Is the piping exposed to outdoor temperatures? Sunlight? Is it possible that there are small leaks in the standpipe that could drop the pressure? How long have you had the pump in service? If this just started happening, maybe there is a problem with the pressure switch?
