The pressure washer may have been used to clean the exhaust system. I recall another newspaper story where the hood cleaner (or hack if your prefer) started the Pressure Washer and the burner kicked on. Those burners put out at least 155°F, and the sprinkler did what sprinkler are designed to do, put out the fire.
