Craig:

Not all of us members are CEOs of contracting firms. I am a one man design company. But, for $16.67 / month, I can find ways to afford the AFSA membership. I feel that I get more than that back from this forum alone. Now, when you throw in the free webinars, informal interpretations, etc....that is quite a bargain. Again, check back through the archives, but George Church had made a contact with the people at NICET and they even stated that participation in this forum would count toward NICET CPDs. That $200/yr seems to offer quite a bit to help support AFSA. I believe it is also the same price for NFSA as I am a design member there as well.

Give it a try. If you don't feel it was worth it, don't renew the following year. I can say that I have not failed to renew since I became a member several years ago.

Guys, if you really want to discourage people from joining or even contributing
to this Forum then keep up with the disparaging remarks.

I'm sure there are other avenues for PROFESSIONALS to exchange information.

Maybe more people would join if the price was less. But personally I don't
consider $200 inexpensive. Maybe for all you CEO's of those big contracting
firms who pay your way it's inexpensive.
