My apologies: first message had wrong subject in header.
Dear colleagues,
A client has a truck loading building where
tankers are filled with combustible (edible) oil.
The building is protected by a foam/water
sprinkler system according to NFPA 13 & 16.
There are a few skylights, distributed over the
roof of the building. Spacing between the
skylights exceeds 10 ft (3 m). The area of each skylight exceeds 32 ft2 (3 m²).
The skylights have plastic covers.
The bottom of each skylight is closed with a
transparant plastic panel that flattens out the
bottom of the skylight with the surrounding ceiling.
The plastic cover on top and the plastic panel at
the bottom create inside the skylight a concealed
space with a height of approx. 2 or 3 ft.
The roof is covered with non-combustible ceramic
insulation (rockwool) and bitumic sheeting on top of it.
Question: are sprinklers required in these skylights? What is your opinion?
