Nyuck, Nyuck, Nycuk.
There are probably 7 - 3 person crews at each facility. That is 21
people. If they are replaced by robots, that means the 21 people are
expendable. Assume 6 can be absorbed in to other jobs, that means 15
would be laid off. Times 50 facilities is 750 more people out of work
from jobs that won't come back. Do the robots provide a higher level
of protection or allow safe passage into potentially contaminated
areas or is this just a money saving deal? Another case of technology
solving one problem and creating another.
