I think you have to have at least 1 and if it gets over 53' you would need 
nother one.  But I'm a southern boy and the ground don't shake down here so it 
ould be best to get the opinion of a SoCal native to be on the safe side.  
lthough I have seen some drawings from guys out there and I'm not sure some of 
hem understand seismic very well either.

If you have a branch line that is, say 24', and a restraint is required at 53' 
ntervals (2"), is a restraint required?  Or, does the restraint criteria 
ick-in at the 53' mark?
