Gentlemen,

I like to get your opinion an issue that I came across.

We have a sprinklered ceiling with small decorative openings throughout
the ceiling area; it was designed this way by the Architect. The
openings are 6 inches wide by 18 feet long. What is the forums opinion
with respect to these openings? Do they need any sort of protection?
NFPA 13 2007 8.15.4. talks about vertical openings for closed sprinkler
protection for openings such as moving stairways, staircases or similar
floor openings.

I don't think this applies, because of the size of the openings. Does
anybody have any ideas?
