You can use reverse polish notation (RPN) if desired, but you can toggle to
algebraic (which I prefer). I can see why some like RPN...you can save a lot
of key punches.

I tried an HP one time... do they still use the crazy reverse entry method? I
use my TI-89 it's a beast!

Brian,

I use the hp33s and I have all of the needed formulas on it and just have to
punch in the missing variables. Maybe has more function than needed, but I
like it.

Subject: NICET Calculator for Advanced Hydraulics

I just remembered I have to get my app in for Nicet 4 before the 30th
(reminder!). Fortunately I only have to pass advanced hydraulics so I'm looking
for a nicet approved calculator able to make entry of friction loss formulas a
little more efficient. Does anyone have any recommendations?
Preferably something that can store most, if not all, of the formula to where
you only have to enter in the variables; that would be nice as I'm going to
need all the time I can get on this. I was always saving advanced hydraulics
for last so I never took it. Now I wish I did seeing how I'm only going to get
one shot at it.

BTW, the list of approved calculators is at:
http://www.nicet.org/candidates/allowable_calculators.pdf

Best Regards,

Brian
