We are upgrading the sprinklers in a bay where the insurance company wants
it to comply with NFPA 30, meaning I will have to use 286 degree sprinklers.
We will be removing the existing piping and sprinklers to install new in this
bay.  The other bays in the building will have 212 degree sprinklers still.
The bays are separated by 30" steel beams, so the branch lines and sprinklers
will be above that beam and separated from the other sprinklers.  I know that
NFPA 13 (2010) 8.4.6.4 requires draft curtains for for ESFR sprinklers when
using with standard sprinklers, and I thought there was something elsewhere
about temperature separations, but I cannot find it.  Now the insurance company
wants to know if the 30" deep beam is enough separation.  Can any one refresh
my feweble brain and tell me where it's at in 13?  Thanks!
