Subject: IBC - building separations

Where is the spot in the IBC that defines what rating a wall must be to
divide a larger building into two smaller, separate ones?

I remember talk about row housing in San Francisco where one large
building was subdivided into separate townhomes by use of firewalls.

Thanks,
