We have an engineered design (by a registered PE) that has a glass atrium wall in a LEEDS building. I am assuming some of you guys have already dealt with this. He has called for SSP heads - not listed window sprinklers - on both sides of the wall.
He is fuzzy in his logic for calculating them however and frankly so am I. One side is 3 floors of glass so it is one huge compartment, the other side is split into offices, so there are only 1-3 window sprinklers in each room. How do we calc the atrium on the big room side - as a water curtain balanced with the OH system? In the small rooms, do we just do a most demanding room calc and include the window sprinklers? Thanks for the help.
