Bobby, I have designed several of these in hospitals and Dr.'s offices around Atlanta and the biggest issue is getting into the vault. Most of these are built with a blockout over the entry door for getting the systems piping etc. into the vault but you need to make sure of this and sleeve if you need to for your own purposes. Most will require preaction because of the expensive equipment but I have also installed wet pipe with black steel and C.I. fittings. This is not like the MRI vaults which require non-ferrous materials and preaction.Hope this helps.

We are bidding a project that has Linear Accelerator Vaults. These areas
have thick concrete walls, floor and ceilings and the machine produces
radiation for cancer treatment. They spec us installing D.I. Preaction
systems for these vaults. Is anyone familiar with these? My question is can
we use black steel pipe and do we have to do anything special at our
penetrations into the rooms?

Thank you in advance.
