Also depends on joining method, see NFPA 13:6.3.e and 6.3.3.

Subject: Working pressure rating of pipe

Does anyone know where I can find working pressure ratings for Sch. 40
and Sch. 80 pipe? For years, we've just used Sch. 40 on high pressure
portions of standpipes, but I got to wondering about what sprinkler
piping is actually rated for. Just off the phone with Allied, and their
listed Sch. 10 and 40 both rated 300psi. So if I can use Sch. 10 up to
300, my little brain goes on to reason that 40 should get me higher, but
then perhaps not. What about 80? Do we have to go seamless to get
higher still? I'm looking for documented, listed, approved,
underwritten ... more than just an anecdotal citation.
